so i've known these kids for nearly a decade. i can't remember the last time we were all in the same room together... has to be at least three years i think... maybe more. so to say this hangout was overdue is an understatement.
three things happened saturday night:
1. we ate at friendly's (this place is like a living memory)
jess and todd
jon, his girlfriend meg, and joe
oh yea ;)
2. we played reindeer games
like
we also played this question game where we went around in a circle asking the person next to us a question, any question. and they ask the person next to them a question and so on and so forth. you don't answer any questions. you can't take a while to think about a question or you're out, you gotta be quick. you can't laugh while you're asking the question or your out. you can't ask a question that has already been asked before or you're out. and you have to look the person directly in the eyes while you're asking. unbelievably funny.
etc etc
3. we watched the following movie 'til 4 am
great night with great people. and what is so crazy is everyone lives in different states now. jess is in new york, jon is in pennsylvania, todd is virginia, joe is in texas, and i'm the only one left in jersey. haha. but i'm sooo happy that we were all finally able to get together this break.
(this carol was originally written in the 12th century. the author of the words and composer to the music is unknown. this is casting crowns version of the song without words but i put them below.)
O come, O come, Emmanuel And ransom captive Israel That mourns in lonely exile here Until the Son of God appear Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free Thine own from Satan's tyranny From depths of Hell Thy people save And give them victory o'er the grave Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Day-Spring, come and cheer Our spirits by Thine advent here Disperse the gloomy clouds of night And death's dark shadows put to flight. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Key of David, come, And open wide our heavenly home; Make safe the way that leads on high, And close the path to misery. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, O come, Thou Lord of might, Who to Thy tribes, on Sinai's height, In ancient times did'st give the Law, In cloud, and majesty and awe. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel.
yesterday i took a certain red head to moma and we saw the tim burton exhibition. it was amazing. you all should check it out. i loved it. and now i'm in the mood to watch edward scissorhands.
ok so my best friend is home for Christmas. here he is:
his sister and i picked him up from the philly airport yesterday. we ate chocolate pudding and watched:
it was a good time. and then today i had to come back to rutgers to take a final... let me tell you how exciting that was. let's see- two more finals and a final project to go... and then FREEDOM... (until jan 19th) haha.
but anyway... i've been on a Skillet kick lately. so i guess i'll leave you with five videos of their music. haha i know that's a lot, but hey, they're good :) the first two songs are from their new album "Hero", the third from "Collide" and the last two from "Comatose". i love how this band has a girl drummer. they're awesome. yea.
this last song reminds me of a few awesome friends that i have had the privilege of hanging around with for nearly a decade. joe, melis, and jess- this song is for you... "those nights kept me alive"
ok, well basically they set up a small table with four little chairs. they called four people from the audience (i think they signed a waiver- not sure) and those four sat in the chairs. they let that bull loose in the rodeo. whoever is the last one still seated wins 400 dollars. it was crazy because the bull pretty much saw them right away... it actually took one of its front two hooves and started swiping it across the dirt, suggesting to us that its ready to charge. and it lowered its head and ran. it was a very close call to see who won because it seemed like they all shot up at once haha.
and as you can see the table is destroyed. one guy way in the back, if you can see, is on the ground with two other guys around him... the bull stepped on his foot which may have broken it i think. ouch.
